The beginning of a story
Shai and Ashley have been together 12 YEARS! The elopement we got to celebrate together happened to be on their anniversary. The two met in high school and have spent all of their time together since. They both love the outdoors and actually live in New Mexico! One of my favorite things about this day was how they told me they selected Oregon as their location. They said they had picked a few states and locations and did a wheel to eliminate states till one was the winner. The Oregon coast ended up being the perfect location since the wedding was mid-february and they enjoyed the rainy gloomy day!!
The day of...
We started the trip to Oregon with an early 3am departure and I picked up Sam (another photographer friend of mine who traveled with me). 1 plane ride and 90 minute drive from the airport later we arrived to Hug Point on the Oregon coast. Before the start of the elopement we fit in an engagement session for one of my Washington couples who drove down and even got the opportunity to photograph my younger sisters proposal to her long term boyfriend. After the busy afternoon we arrived at the Hallmark hotel in downtown Cannon Beach. We did a few detail shots and headed out to haystack rock and the beach for some rain photos. It poured, but these two had so much fun. We then spent some time drying off and headed to the ceremony. The ceremony was gorgeous and then celebrated the marriage with a first dance, champagne and cake! We did about an hour of photos after this at Hug Point and Arcadia beach. We ended out the night with a quick goodbye and a drive back to the airport. Days like these are very busy but make the best memories!
